CFAS Monthly Board Meeting Minutes

1. President's Call to order. Welcoming remarks.

The meeting was called to order at 7:34pm.

1. Secretary's Report

A request was made for comments and changes to the September board meeting minutes in addition to the change that Beeler is a board member, not a guest. Frank made a motion to approve the minutes as distributed by email. Tony seconded the motion. The minutes were approved unanimously.

1. Treasurer's Report

Walt briefly reviewed the treasurer's report with the board. The 2007 budget is complete and ready for the vote in December. Paul motioned to approve the treasurer's report. Frank seconded. The report was accepted unanimously.

1. Agenda Items

   1. Report on November general meeting.

   2. Christmas Party

      1. The membership should bring what ever they feel like bringing, this should assure a good mix of meals, drinks and desserts. CFAS will provide the sandwich as last year.

      1. Next year's meeting programs will primarily consist of CFAS-originated topics.

      1. No report.

1. 1. Publicity

      1. Tony has a commitment date for the Alafaya Branch of the Orange County Public Library system: January 25th.

1. 1. Orlando Science Center

      1. No report.

1. 1. Board Members at Large

      1. No members have contacted BMALs this month.

1. 1. Observing

      1. Tom discussed his trip to Lake Kissimmee State Park with the board. It sounds like a potential Southern observing site.

1. 1. Education and Outreach

      1. Princeton Moon Party - January 26th

      2. Dommerich Elementary - February 23rd.

      1. No report.

1. 1. Astrolog Editor

      1. December 10th is the deadline for the first quarter 2007 Astrolog.

1. 1. Scientific Committee

      1. Francisco made a motion to accept Tom Daisy's request to assume the position of Scientific Committee chairman. Frank seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

1. 1. NASA Night Sky Network

      1. Kepler mission teleconference is this Thursday.

   1. No old business was discussed.

   1. No new business was brought forward.

1. Motion to Adjourn

   1. Frank motioned to adjourn the meeting, Tony seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:16pm.
