President's Call to order. Welcoming remarks.
The meeting was called to order at 7:12pm.

Secretary's Report
A request was made for comments and changes to the November board meeting minutes. Frank made a motion to approve the minutes as distributed by email. Larry seconded the motion. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Treasurer's Report
Walt briefly reviewed the treasurer's report with the board. Larry moved to approved treasurer report, Francisco seconded. The report was accepted unanimously.

Paul is making final tweaks to the registration and information pages.

Walt will contact Todd Parker to verify he's planning to attend and teach the beginning astronomy class again.

Tom Chitty is getting quotes from local catering companies to find the best price.

Projector

Walt mentioned to the board that he and Tony had spoken about a PC projector for use at CFAS events.

New Equipment

Walt suggested CFAS acquire one high-quality eyepiece per year for use with the loaner telescopes. Walt will discuss options with Alan and come back next month with recommendations.

Larry mentioned that a number of potential members attended the general meeting but no information was obtained from them. Beeler seconded the motion which passed unanimously.

The stardust mission will be presented at next month's meeting. A follow-up presentation will be made by Frank Gutowski on the Stardust@home project related to the mission. Walt will do a constellation of the month program as well.

Princeton Moon Party – At Orlando Science Center - January 26th - Walt will be asking for volunteers to help the regular OSC docents.

Youth Program

Tom wants to ask the membership on the idea of sponsoring a Youth Program. Generally the board supports the idea. However, some logistics will need to be ironed out before it can be officially supported. Walt will ask a family friend who is a retired teacher about how we might go about starting this.

Next NNSN teleconference is February 1st at 9pm EST, Dr. Showalter will talk about moons and rings.

During the meeting Paul had Internet access and when he tried to access the CFAS website, another appeared instead. Upon returning home the website was “normal.” The ISP for the wireless access he was using was probably having problems.
