  1. President's Call to order. Welcoming remarks.

The meeting was called to order at 7:02pm.

  1. Secretary's Report

Motion was made to approve the minutes as distributed by email. Motion was seconded. The minutes were approved unanimously.

  1. Treasurer's Report

No treasurers report this period.

  1. Agenda Items

    1. Tony reported that the official dates for Astrofest will be March 7, 8 and 9, 2008 at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve. All but one or two of the available sites have been reserved and paid for. Registration and final details will be discussed over the next two months.

    2. The annual Christmas Party plans were discussed. It was agreed that Walt would buy and bring the subs and the drinks, ice, and paper/plastic items. Members will be encouraged to bring small tables and chairs as those items are in limited supply at Robinson. Members will also be asked to bring SMALL dessert items so as not to have too many items left to dispose of!

    3. Tony requested that we bring budget inputs for the next Board Meeting in December. He noted that since we have not spent any significant amounts this year that we may as well plan on leaving the budget amounts the same for next year unless something comes up in the interim.

  1. Committee Reports

    1. Membership – None to report

    1. Programs

Tony stated that he and Frank would be making plans for programs over the next few months. In the meantime there are several NASA Night Sky Programs that have yet to be presented to the membership and those will be used until other events can be planned as opportunities are presented.

    1. DSAC/Library

      1. There will be a Mars opposition at SCC the 2nd Sat in Dec, the 8th. There will be planetarium programs from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and then observing from 9:00 to 11:00 PM. Volunteers are needed and need to contact Derek to let him know.

        1. November 20th – Odyssey middle school.

        2. December 11th – Sanford middle school
