The Central Florida Astronomical Society, Inc. (CFAS) is a 501(c)(3) organization operating in the Greater Orlando Metropolitan area and surrounding communities. Our membership is active in the Central Florida Community, donating time, expertise and enthusiasm to local organizations such as the Orlando Science Center, the Seminole Community College Planetarium and local school programs. The society was founded to increase public awareness of astronomy and astronomy-related issues such as light polution, scientific inquiry and NASA astronomical missions.

As a not-for-profit institution founded for community education, we have a number of outreach programs aimed at the Central Florida community. We participate in the NASA Night Sky Network making presentations at the Orlando Science Center and elsewhere in the community. Our members volunteer time at night-time astronomy events sponsored by local schools, providing telescopes and expertise to local youth and teachers.

CFAS welcomes donations of all kinds, including monetary donations, astronomy-related equipment, and time. To arrange a donation, please contact our Treasurer, Alan Hoffberg or our President, Walt Hamler.

Additional information is available from our public disclosure page.
